[ again, she has to resist the urge to evade the question or snap back. she does her best to keep smiling, keep being pleasant as possible.

she tells herself that maybe it wouldn't hurt to let him and his friends know where she and raoul and rea are going after this. if they ever need help, if they can get favours from them, that'll be great. ]

We're thinking of being transferred to New York. [ they're allowed there since it's a place that none of them have connections with in terms of the criminal world. supposedly. noelle and raoul don't for sure, much to their frustrations, but surely rea does. she seemed so confident when taking up the offer. ] It's a really lively place. Perfect for Raoul and Rea.

[ personally? she doesn't like the idea of being somewhere so bustling and noisy after what they've been through but she'll manage this. she's just happy they're all together in this. ]

[ leeds nods along like a fancy bobble head and is grinning the entire time. he's happy to hear that it sounds like noelle and her friends are getting back on track. not the crime track. the 'don't be on the crime track' track ANYWAYS. ]

[ she blinks at the comment and the fact he's giving her a flower. a flower from a whole bouquet that she bought, yeah, but combined with the apparently(?) sincere well-wishes for her... and the fact this is after he got hurt by raoul and lune-18 nearly ran him over with a fucking armoured vehicle...

she takes the blossom and looks down at it, blinking over and over again like she can't believe it's there. ] Are you sure about this...? It's yours now.

For sure! For sure!! [ he makes flappy handwaving gestures at her to keep it please. ] Mine now like you said and I want to share with you. I think it's the prettiest blossom too and you deserve it after all the fuckery.

[ well- he is offering it and is pretty naggy about taking it from him. that and the flower - they're called solider's kisses, right? so it'll be a singular kiss with one flower? what a strange name - is the prettiest looking one from the bundle. ]

Thank you. [ she tucks it behind her ear. partly to show her appreciation. partly ~~to make sure he doesn't get last-minute ideas and snatch it from her~~ to keep it on her, hands-free. ]

We'll do our best to make sure this works out for all of us. [ it might not but in the way nodice is hoping, no doubt, but it's their lives. ] Not every day we get a fresh start and we'll make sure to really use this chance for us.

I'm glad you guys helped us.  [ it's something she needs to admit.  it's also an unsaid favour that dangles over her head, leaving her on edge. they may not call her or raoul or rea right away - that would be too tacky, get in the way of this do-gooders thing they all seem keen to present - but it will happen, sooner rather than later.

and they earned it. noelle has no idea what would have happened to her if laura didn't save her from the fall. or if leeds hadn't tricked those would-be killers. or if the aliens hadn't intervened on gated bridge. ] ... Thank you for your help, Leeds. Back in the hospital.

[ oh fuck? plot twist? plot twist with feelings??? this isn't a fair day to leeds. ~~will she apologize for her friend busting his face now.....~~ ]

I'll keep that in mind. [ she will. never hurts to have a promise like that tucked for future use. it also sounded sincere enough so maybe he'll keep his word.

so noelle smiles at him one last time and gives a little wave, trying to not jostle the flower in her hair. it's a nice little gift, after all. ]
